Why is cycling fun
It’s about that time of year, the sunshine is almost gone, the days are getting shorter and you have begun dusting off the winter clothes. You would be forgiven for thinking the boring doom and gloom was here until Christmas, however all is not lost, why not join the thousands getting fit and having fun cycling!
Perhaps one of the best ways to get into cycling is buying a bike and popping to the shops at the weekend. You don’t need to spend a lot of money, there are plenty of cheap bicycles for sale these days. Once you have your bike, getting into cycling is easy.
You can start off riding down the road to pick up the milk or maybe to the pub to watch the champions league. The point is, cycling doesn’t need to be long and arduous. Perhaps people still say why is cycling fun?
One of the best ways of saving money, the environment and getting fit is to begin to cycle to work. We recommend starting off slow and maybe cycling 2 or 3 times a week, then gradually going to the full working week. On average, people save over £50 a week by cycling in petrol or transport costs. Plus it’s a great way to keep in shape and shed some pounds before the Christmas onslaught of turkey, mince pies and stuffing. But maybe the most important thing of all is the positive affect on the environment that you will have by choosing to cycle more rather than taking the car.
